The Mercedes-Benz 280 SLC (C107 series) is the coupe version of the legendary R107 SL Roadster and was produced from 1974 to 1981. Unlike the two-seater roadster, the SLC coupe has a wheelbase that is 36 cm longer, creating space for a full-size rear seat.
Technical highlights of the 280 SLC
Engine: It is powered by the M110 inline six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2.8 liters.
Power: 177 hp (130 kW)
Performance: The top speed is approximately 200 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes around 10.1 seconds.
Special features of the C107 series
Design: The fixed rear side windows with their characteristic “slats” (sun protection) are striking, as the windows could not be fully lowered due to the design.
Exclusivity: While over 237,000 units of the R107 Roadster were built, the SLC Coupé remained significantly rarer with a total of only 62,888 units.
Successor: SLC production ended in 1981 and was replaced by the S-Class Coupés of the Mercedes-Benz C126 series.
