Following the launch of the new so-called ‘tailfin’ series (W 111, W 112) from 1959 onwards, the previous convertibles from the ‘Ponton’ series began to look rather outdated. From September 1961, the new 220 SE b and 300 SE convertibles were available. The stunningly beautiful design and modern technology ensured its great success. The 250 SE variant was available from September 1965 to December 1967.
Our Mercedes-Benz 250 SE convertible is one of those classic cars that have become quite rare. It is still driven today by its second owner. Around 20,000 km ago, the classic convertible had its engine replaced. A conscious decision was made to fit the upgraded engine from the 280 SE model. Yes, it does show a few signs of wear, but the combination of silver paintwork and blue leather is a perfect match.
