The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is a sporty version of the Ford Escort (Mark V), which was designed to high quality as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, which was on the market in 1993 and 1998. The street version was designed in 1992 and produced in a limited run in 1996.

The car was developed based on the chassis and mechanics of the Sierra RS Cosworth, with the larger Cosworth engine and transmission housed within, and it was also fitted with the body panels of the Escort. The standard Garrett AiResearch T3/T04B turbocharger delivered a maximum turbo pressure of 0.8 bar, which briefly rose to 1.0-1.1 bar (overboost). The car weighed 1,275 to 1,310 kg, depending on the equipment.

Both the street and rally versions have permanent 4x4 drive.
