1974 | BMW 2002 tii

BMW certainly saved the best 02 until last with the 2002tii. Launched in 1971, this used the same, elegant bodyshell of its earlier relations. The club network surrounding these cars is responsive and well organised offering any new owner the confidence and backup to invest in these iconic sporting coupes. These are specifically built to offer a more dynamic driving experience whilst the (non-turbo) fuel-injected, two-litre engine delivers 130bhp and a top speed of 118mph.

This reliable, fuel-injected example was imported nearly a year ago from a private collection in Kuwait and whilst originally built for the US market, the condition is fair and the paintwork in sound condition, with no obvious corrosion. The interior is also in good order, with a racing-style leather steering wheel and no other obvious damage although the rear storage nets would benefit from some tlc. The wheels are aftermarket BBS units with decent tyres fitted and painted front calipers. There is limited paperwork, apart from UK registration documents and a new MoT test certificate. Indeed, it represents the perfect opportunity to begin to build a new life around this charming high-performance variant. It was offered at auction some months prior but, due to various mechanical problems, it failed to sell. These issues have now been rectified and the clutch has been repaired. These 'tiis' are known for their sporty handling and well-balanced chassis making these examples extremely collectible and this model in particular, offered without reserve, is something of a rarity!
