The Austin-Healey was introduced in 1953. It was called the Austin-Healey 100, had a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 90 hp, and thus achieved a remarkable top speed of 171 km/h (100 mph). Over the years, this highly successful sports car, which also proved its mettle in rallies, was continuously developed. In 1956, it was given a 2.7-liter 6-cylinder engine and was now called the 100/6. Two versions were built: a pure 2-seater and a 2+2 with occasional rear seats. In 1959, the stunning roadster was further developed, and its engine was enlarged to 3 liters (11 mpg). It now produced 150 hp, had a top speed of over 192 km/h (110 mph), and also received roll-up windows and a folding soft top.
Our car is a BJ8 (2+2), from the last Series III. It has been fully restored. The restoration work was carried out to a very high standard and with great professionalism between 2006 and 2011. A considerable sum was invested in the restoration; the previous owner spared no expense and employed the best specialists. All work was performed in Germany. A comprehensive binder containing the relevant documentation is available. The current owner acquired the Austin Healey in 2018 and has had it regularly serviced by Leo Peschl in Cologne. It is in like-new condition, everything functions perfectly, and it is ready for immediate use on a long road trip.
