1961 | Jaguar Mk II 2.4

Registered in November 1961 as a 2.4 Mk2. Stored in a heated garage from 1975 to 2007 prior to a complete renovation and re-build. During the renovation the engine was changed for the 4.2 version (245bhp) and back axle ratio to suit, giving a higher specification to a top speed of over 125mph.

It is understood that of the 13 with the 4.2 engine licensed at DVLC in the UK only 7 are still on the road.  

Bodywork, engine, instruments, and interior are all in good condition, with underseal in good order. The car has been well maintained. Speedometer changed in 2017 now showing 44,942. However - original mileage will be 56,739m.

Rated as the second only Jaguar to the E Type, this example has been regularly serviced and UK M.o.T. tested annually. The current being valid until 13.03.2025.

Apart from the engine and back axle, it is as originally built, with minor ‘upgrades’ where appropriate (e.g. new carpets, upholstery cleaned and resealed, speedometer and rev. counter exchanged with higher spec to match engine).

It comes with a good service history, album of re-build photos, original components where replaced, and original workshop manual.

Being a model well known through the ‘Morse’ detective series and of distinctive (original) red colour with splendid performance, it has always attracted a body of interested parties when either on the road or at shows.
