2024 | Dax Rush

The Dax Rush is a British kit car originally launched in the early 1990s by DAX Cars (DJ Sportscars International), and it remains one of the better-known Lotus Seven-style cars. Unlike most Seven replicas, the Rush was designed from the outset with the ability to handle more powerful engines and wider tracks, making it a bit more aggressive and modern than a traditional Lotus Seven copy. This Rush is the standard wheelbase variant with double wishbone front suspension and the De Dion design on the rear which offers less unsprung weight leading to better handling compared to that of a live axle. Built to an exceptionally high standard with one of the most desirable naturally aspirated four-cylinder engines available and specified with a six-speed transmission and Ford Sierra LSD Differential.

The engine calibration was carried out by Steve Greenald at Track n Road using a Motorsport electronics ME442 ECU producing 220.7bhp and 147.8lb-ft on BP Ultimate 97 fuel. The ECU and fuelling system have been future-proofed for further development, with provision for additional sensors, CAN-bus device integration, or forced induction if desired. Offered with a custom Bailey Morris prop shaft, K&air intake, stainless steel 4-2-1 exhaust system (sports cat and silencer included), bespoke aluminium radiator with Spal fan, and fully braided Teflon-lined AN fuel system with Bosch 044 pump. Braking is handled by Hi-Spec billet calipers with braided Teflon lines and Ferodo brake pads, while suspension setup has been dialled in on a Hunter four-wheel alignment system. Additional features include the Team Dynamics Monza R alloys with Toyo Proxes R1R tyres, lightweight fibreglass seats with TRS harnesses, carbon fibre aeroscreen, Caterham-style lighting and indicators, bespoke aluminium dashboard with Savage switchgear and original Honda S2000 cluster fitted with a Speedohealer device, LED lighting throughout and bespoke chassis loom with high-quality sealed connectors.
