1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II
When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965, the development departments were showing the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years. The new models were technically striking in three ways. A monocoque chassis was used; all wheels were sprung independently and four-wheel disc brakes now ensured stopping power of the sort that had come to be expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine that had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed. In February 1977, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II was introduced.
This Rolls- Royce Silver Shadow II is presented in Old English White with contrasting Oatmeal leather interior. It was first registered on 6th June 1979 with the last owner purchasing the car on 14th May 1997. He owned the vehicle for the last 29 years and the MoT history shows that it has only done 29,789 miles as of 30th January 1997 with the current mileage showing a mere 29,838 miles which means that the car has only done 49 miles in 29 years whilst in his ownership. The car was placed in heated dry storage for investment purposes and is now available from a deceased estate. We believe the vehicle had a colour change from Nutmeg to Old English White around this time but was only registered with the DVLA as a colour change on 13th September 2010, it is very hard to see that this has been done, such was the quality of the work. The car has been checked and is running well, having only done 14 miles in the last 13 years. The fuel has been drained and changed but the car will need to be fully recommissioned before being used. Its last MoT was carried out on 22nd June 2013 at 29,824 miles and comes with a copy of an old logbook which is dated 2nd June 1987 showing two of the previous owners along with old MoTs dating back from 29th July 1993 showing the mileage to be just 29,592 miles, so it has only done 246 miles in the last 33 years. It comes with some old MoTs and parts invoices. This Rolls-Royce is a bit of a time warp but does look resplendent in its gleaming Old English White. Consigned by James Good
