Bella was all kitted out for racing - Rebuilt/prepared over several years then used for 10 or so years for Historic/Classic Road Rally's with reasonable success!
On completion She was inspected and issued with an MSA Stage Rally Car logbook, plumbed in fire extinguisher plus hand held, 3" Titon Harnesses, Motodrive seats, 14 point Custom Cages Roll Cage etc. However it has never been used for stage rallying.
1300, Rally cams, skimmed and ported head, HF valves, Twin 40 Dellorto's, hybrid Lucas distributor (much easier to get caps/rotor arms for), Acuspark trigger and rev-limiter, HF Gearbox AVO front shocks, Koni rear shocks, Front suspension camber is as per HF, 2000 wheels, Hydraulic handbrake, good quality fibreglass bonnet and boot.
Well, that's all good for a racer, but lousy for a road car. So the roll cage has been removed, the buckets are now fully adjustable leather seats, the seatbelts are now standard. The trip clock and extinguisher are all gone, the hydraulic handbrake is now an adjustable balance, and most importantly the flywheel is now standard as is the clutch, so you don't need a racers foot to move away from the traffic lights!
It still retains some lovely memories of it's past - Inboard fuel tank in the boot, fuse box and quick electric cut out just above the gear stick, some decals and stickers from its past exploits, and a few bumps in the body work, which add rather than spoil the look.
The carbs are Twin 40 Dellorto's and she runs nicely!
And she is beautiful!
