Beschreibung

This U.K. Home Market RHD Jaguar E-Type is a matching numbers car that has spent the past 25 years with one owner. 233 UKT comes with a superb history with service and maintenance history dating back to 1971 and a photo album documenting a bare shell rebuild that was carried out during the 1980’s. Photos show the car fully taken back to bare metal and completely rebuilt to a show standard level. Finished in Old English White with Black leather upholstery and period webasto sunroof, this very honest, now older restoration is a car that can be a described as a good, strong and solid example that can be improved cosmetically if desired, or kept exactly as it is and driven and used on a regular basis. The E-Type was driven regularly during the 1990's and came into the hands of the most recent owner in 2001. The late Quentin Willson had tried to purchase the E-Type but missed out having gone away to think about the purchase. A copy of the newspaper article where Quentin tells the story comes with the car too. Due to the long term owner living overseas, the car had very little use in the early 2000's but even over this past ten years or so the car has covered few miles. It has however been regularly serviced and was being MOT tested most years up to 2020. The most recent service was carried out in September 2025 when over £2000 was spent on a new battery, rebuilt front brake calipers, brake master cylinders and a couple of brake hoses. Within the past 500 miles the E-Type has also had a new header tank, bottom radiator hose, plug leads, distributor assembly and ball joint gaiters.

233 UKT presents as an older restoration and has the feel of a very honest original car. The underside is solid with excellent floor pans, and the bodywork in general is very good with nice closing doors and no major corrosion issues. The paintwork has lightly microblistered but is perfectly acceptable as it is. If looking for a show finish, the car would need to be fully re-painted but this isn't that type of car, this is a car to either drive and enjoy, or further improve over time as it offers a great base. The interior is in fairly good order although the drivers seats requires work, this is something we'd be happy to attend too. The wire wheels are past their best and the engine bay slightly scruffy but again, they can be improved. The original 3.8 engine is strong and healthy with good oil pressure and compressions, the gearbox is lovely to use and with a major service and light re-commissioning the E-Type will be ready for some serious driving.

This is a car with great history and provenance offering an excellent opportunity to enter into the early E-Type market at a sensible price point. The car is currently in our workshop under preparation, so please do contact us to express early interest.
