  • I'm the third owner. The first owner was the owner of the official BMW dealer Elauto SpA in Palermo - he was a very important real estate entrepreneur -. When he untimely passed away the M5 was registered in the name of his son then stored and no more used nine years during. In 2012 a family's friend and member of the same Rotary Club managed to convince the heirs to sell him the M5 which he finally bought in the same year - but finally he also did use it barely because of serious health issues and drove the M5 just about 1.000 kms -.

A very big service has been done at official BMW Classic workshop in Milano, Italy as the car was very few used for long time. It was terminated between March and May 2019 and the related invoices are with the car -.
The 1st M5's owner was also the owner of the official BMW dealer Elauto SpA in Palermo. The M5 was very carefully maintained and regularly serviced. Its pristine original condition is the most reliable witness.

This wonderful BMW M5 E34 is absolutely accident free, totally original, exceptionally well preserved, totally Factory original 1st paint coat (except the upper area of the driver door and the extreme side of the right rear wing). All the details are correct.
The still 95% Factory original 1st paint coat is well preserved, has a nice deep shine to it and looks shiny and brillant.
A BMW M5 E34 that is today still with its factory 1st paint coat is very much rare.
This M5 is totally rust free.
The undercarriage, the archwheels are in perfect condition and absolutely clean, the panels fitting and alignment are perfect, the panel-gaps are like they must be, the doors, front and rear hoods open and close perfectly without any thread. Front and rear bumpers are in perfect conditions.
All the seals, rubber and plastic parts are original and in perfect condition.
The windscreen and the glasses all around are original and in perfect conditions.
All the lights, front and rear, are original and in perfect conditions free of cracks or moisture; further indication of the very low mileage covered.
The 17'' M System I forged alloy wheels have never been restored and are still with their Factory original 1st paint coat. They are in perfect original conditions.
(A full detailing has just been completed.) It is impossible to believe it is a 28 years old Automobile.

This M5 has been very little driven and well cared for; the interior well shows this fact! It is in mint condition, totally original, untouched, perfectly preserved and clean. All the details are correct. This M5 has the full leather option: all the interior is leather trimmed, including the dashboard's glove box.

Now the "piece de resistance". What shines bright in most any BMW M5 is its race engine coming. Fantastic old school performance and sound, pure gold for the enthusiasts!
Engine and drivetrain are both in very fine fettle with very low mileage covered. Ignition is without hesitation and the engine settles to to its particular idle - it's a race engine! -, with clutch and engagement positive and smooth.
The engine as well as the gearbox are dry, there are no oil leaks.
The engine bay and the legendary DOHC 24 valves inline 6 are perfectly clean, totally original, in pristine preserved conditions. The original wax is still largely thereand is a one more proof for this M5 very low kms.
Everything is as must be, beautiful, tidy, dry, without any leak's trace.
All the original i.d. plates and stickers are where they must be. No one is missing.
All the Factory stamped numbers are original and are where they must be.
The car is Matching Numbers - engine, gearbox, etc - obviously.
Everything works perfectly.
The original mileage is 38.940 kms only, corresponding to an average of 1.339 kms/year only! This is very uncommon for a BMW M5.
The M5 E34 engine - the very famous S38, an evolution of the engine used in M1 and then M5 E28 and M6 E24 - not only has fantastic performances and sound: it is very reliable and robust. It is reputed for being "bulletproof", if carefully used and regularly serviced - you just need to wait the oil is at the right temperature before going-up in the rpm and to service it regularly utilising the best quality oils -.
These engines will easily see over 300.000 kms before requiring any major freshening work.
The same is for the whole mechanic, really unbreakable when properly respected.
This BMW M5 drives perfectly, it gives lot of fun and pleasure on the road.
This engine is delightfully and effortlessly quick, has available lot of power giving its best over 4.500 rpm. What the enthusiast like: an old school race engine!
The magic is in its natural not artificial sound also: useless to try of describing it. Just listen to it and you'll recognize it well before seeing the car! Playing with the power is instantly addictive, grin inducing, startling to other drivers, and glorious.
The excellent 5 speed Getrag gearbox works perfectly, it is perfectly driven, smooth and quick. The same is for the clutch. The gearbox requires a soft touch and is another source of classic driving enjoyment.

What makes the E34 M5 unique?
The E34 M5 is the BMW Motorsport-developed version of the E34 5 Series sedan and (later) Touring. It is powered by the S38 twin-cam 24-valve inline-six, an evolution of the M88 engine, the very one that made its debut on BMW's first supercar, the M1. Based on the M49 Motorsport engine used in BMW's Motorsport division, the M88 was closely related to the engine for use in Group 5 racing where it produced upwards of 887 hp. This engine has been used in the E28 M5 and E24 M6 after the M1. It also has a BMW Motorsport-tuned chassis and a few special cosmetic pieces.
The BMW E34 has been designed from one of the all times most talented Italian designer, Ercole Spada with the supervision of Claus Luthe. Just to remind, Ercole Spada worked at Zagato from 1960 to 1969 where he designed some of the most important Automobiles in the history of the Milanese firm and some of the most beautiful Automobiles ever. He designed in 1961 the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato - the most beautiful and most important Aston Martin ever -, many famous, important and beautiful Alfa Romeo - Giulietta Sprint Zagato, Giulia TZ, 2600 SZ, Junior Zagato - and Lancia - Flavia Sport, Flaminia Super Sport, Fulvia Sport, Flavia Zagato -.
Ercole Spada designed two very important, successfull and beautiful BMW models: the E32 (series 7) and E34 (series 5).
It is not by chance if the BMW Series 5 E34 has been one of the most successfull models in BMW's history!
When was the E34 M5 first introduced?
The original 3.5-liter E34 M5 was introduced in September of 1988. The later 3.8-liter version first appeared at the 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show, as did the E34 M5 Touring.
Where was the E34 M5 produced?
Unlike the normal 5 Series, M5s were hand-assembled at the BMW Motorsport facility in Garching, a suburb of Munich. Bodies were pressed at the normal Dingolfing factory, then sent to Garching where they were mated with the engine and interior trim. The only exception was the South African-spec model, assembled at BMW's Rosslyn, South Africa factory from German-supplied Complete Knock Down (CKD) kits.
BMW Motorsport did consider offering a two-door convertible version of the M5 and even produced a fully-functioning prototype under the internal designation E35. This prototype, which still exists as part of BMW M's historical collection, was based on the 3.5-liter M5 and retained the standard 2761mm wheelbase of the E34 sedan and Touring, as well as all bodywork forward of the windshield.

This BMW M5 E34 is certainly one of the best in Europe. Such a much low mileage and well preserved M5 is a real rarity.

It is very much difficult to find so high quality, unmodified, well preserved, seriously maintained and very well documented BMW M5 E34.

The BMW M5 E34 is a milestone in BMW history and in sports car industry, a must have for every real BMW and more generally speaking for every sport car enthusiast and collector.
The most unique M5 BMW ever manufactured is the E34 M5.
In the '90s BMW made several transitions that impacted both the 5 series and Motorsport editions of their cars.
The E34 was the last 5 series to feature that classic BMW 5 series design. It has been designed by Ercole Spada - everyone claiming to be an Automobiles connoisser must know who Ercole Spada is and which Automobiles he has styled -. Specifically, the E34 5 series features round headlamps, a classic boxy BMW front end, and the interior is decorated with those classic European climate control levers and dials. After the E34, both the exterior and interior design of the 5 series changed forever.
The M5 E34 was the last hand assembled M series car and the last M5 to feature a race inspired engine. In Fast Lane's September 1992 article entitled "The Iron Fist", BMW Motorsport Director Karl-Heinz Kalbfell was questioned about the future of the M5 and specifically about the 540i's V8 engine. He answered:
"In all our M-Cars, the engine has had a racing history. This is not the case with the V-8. We have a new business unit called BMW Individual, so maybe the successor to the M5 could come from that side".
The E34 was the last of several eras at BMW.
Car & Driver Magazine summarized the M5 E34 with the following quote in the 1991 M5 review: "Given some perfectly reasonable criteria, BMW's new generation M5 just might be the best car in the world".

One of the most satisfying aspect of the M5 E34 is it's a very serious Automobile which gives so much pleasure!. Further it's her unrelenting authenticity. All the details are meticulously and much seriously handled.
Everywhere you look, there is authentic, rigorous excellence.
The modern models just cannot recreate the traditional Motorsport feeling, it is just impossible.
There is simply no feeling in the world to compare with the sensation of driving a pristine, 80's school BMW M5 E34.

This 1991 BMW M5 is an exceptional low mileage and mint conditions example, an Automobile for connoisseurs.
The price is coherent with this fact even if it still is paltry compared to the real quality and rarity of this example.
Only serious, motivated buyers which are informed about the market, please.
Curious and price hunters this BMW M5 E34 is not for you, this is not a cheap car. Please, avoid of loosing my time.
I do not answer to nameless or without phone number e-mail messages.
Many thanks.
