From my private collection, I am selling the Mk2, one of three fully built Triumph Speed Triple T509 restomods.
The machine is technically mature, proven reliable and in very good condition. The sale is solely because I am reducing my motorcycle collection and want to keep only one of my three T509s in future.
The concept
The Mk2 was born from the question of how the first Speed Triple with an aluminium frame, fuel injection and twin headlights might look and ride today if its strengths were consistently developed further without losing its analogue character.
The result is neither a show bike nor a collection of arbitrary aftermarket parts, but a fully developed, road-legal restomod. Almost every assembly was reworked, renewed or specifically improved. With a full 18-litre tank, the Mk2 weighs 201 kg, around 19 kg less than the production motorcycle.
Engine and drivetrain
The 885 cc three-cylinder engine was completely dismantled and rebuilt as part of the project. The original mileage of the donor engine is not documented. When dismantled, the cylinder liners showed no visible wear.
The cylinder head was overhauled, the valves were re-lapped and the valve train was inspected and renewed where necessary. A leak-down test carried out after the rebuild showed no abnormalities.
A custom-tuned ECU map particularly improves the often-jerky throttle response of standard T509s at low revs. The engine can be ridden smoothly from around 2,000 rpm and develops the characteristic thrust of the short-stroke Triumph triple from around 4,500 rpm.
Further details:
Suspension, wheels and brakes
The fully overhauled suspension combines precise handling with good road manners:
Frame and build
The aluminium frame was completely stripped, inspected and then powder-coated מחדש.
Particular attention was paid to the steering stops, which are often damaged on crashed T509s. These are free of defects; no cracks, deformation or other frame damage were found elsewhere either.
No accident or crash damage is known. According to the vehicle documents, the motorcycle has had one previous keeper.
The major modifications to the suspension, wheels, braking system, handlebars and rearset footrest system are entered in the German vehicle documents.
Electrical system and styling
The wiring harness was completely reworked. The custom-made Speedhut instruments received their own wiring and new sensors.

Mileage and condition
The odometer shows 12,696 km. This is the mileage covered since completion of the rebuild of the motorcycle and engine in 2021. The original mileage of the donor engine cannot be verified.
The Mk2 has been ridden and tested regularly since its completion. It is not merely a static vehicle built for exhibitions.
Current condition:
Documentation and publications
The multi-year build is extensively documented in words and pictures. All available documents relating to the build, components, maintenance, registration and publications will be handed over to the buyer.
The Mk2 has been featured several times in German and international motorcycle media:

Sale and registration
The Mk2 is fully registered and road-ready in Germany. Viewing and a test ride are possible by arrangement in Munich for seriously interested buyers.
The motorcycle has a harmonised German registration certificate with national type approval and the major modifications entered in the documents. No European COC is available. Buyers outside Germany must independently check the registration requirements in their country before purchasing.
Private sale excluding liability for material defects. No warranty, guarantee or returns.
