This Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (Type 930) from the last year of production was delivered in May 1989 by the Porsche dealer Copans Motors Inc. in Pompano Beach (Florida, USA). This is a special version in which three rare and special features come together in combination. On the one hand, the 930 Turbo was only offered as a convertible version in the model years from 1987 to 1989, which led to low production numbers anyway. Secondly, this Turbo Cabriolet was customised at the factory via the Porsche Exclusive programme as a "Flatnose" body (option code M505) with folding headlights. In addition, there are further factory bodywork options, which were usually but not necessarily combined with the "Flatnose" body version: widened side skirts on the left and right, air intake shafts on the rear wings and wheel arch vents on the front wings (see also model history). This example also has the rare G50/50 five-speed transmission, which was fitted in the 930 model only in the last model year 1989 and is particularly sought-after today. The equipment includes further exclusive individualisations such as the original colour scheme in a special factory paint to sample with pearlescent effect (code 99V9) in white metallic (colour code 947 93) with a leather interior in dark blue (colour code 94), finished as so called "Raffleder" with white piping. The paintwork alone had an extra price of just under USD 9,000 at the time. The soft top is black with electric roof operation, which was not a matter of course at the time. The first owner (name known) in Florida kept the car until around 1994. The second owner (name known), a medical doctor in Columbia, South Carolina, drove the 930 “Flatnose” Cabriolet until the beginning of 2006. The third owner (name known) in Las Vegas, Nevada, then took over this Porsche and owned it until the end of 2008. A comprehensive service history with numerous invoices is available for all three owners, which also prove the actual mileage up to that point. The vehicle was imported to Germany in 2009 and was registered in the Trier area. In 2010, the current German owner acquired this special Porsche 911 Turbo convertible for his collection and has only travelled around 3,000 km since then. He registered the car on the Balearic Island of Mallorca in March 2022. In the course of the import in 2009, a mileage of 62,709 miles (approx. 100,920 km) was recorded, which was also credible on the basis of the existing workshop invoices. The speedometer/distance counter was later changed to the metric system and now shows a mileage of 104,000 km. The engine is "Matching Numbers". This 911 Turbo is a particularly exclusive example due to the combination of the three rare features cabriolet and "Flatnose" body design as well as the five-speed gearbox, of which only around 75 vehicles were built. Added to this is the special factory paint to sample colour. Overall, an original 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo “Flatnose” Cabriolet in factory specification like this example is probably extremely difficult to find in the market.

The Porsche 911 was introduced in 1964 as the successor to the 356. It was then built for almost 10 years as the so-called "F-model" or "Urmodell" with numerous modifications and in various versions. In 1973, the 911 was thoroughly revised technically and optically (the so-called "G-model"). The drive was initially a 2.7 litre 6-cylinder boxer engine with 150 hp and 175 hp in the S version. In addition, there was the 2.7 Carrera with the 210 hp engine from the legendary 911 RS from 1972. However, this was not enough for Porsche. In 1974, a new top model was presented at the Paris Motor Show - the 911 Turbo with the internal designation 930. It was only the second series-production vehicle worldwide (after the BMW 2002 Turbo, 1973) to have an exhaust gas turbocharger. Until then, this turbo technology for increasing performance had only been used in motorsport. Porsche had also achieved great success with turbocharging in the early 1970s in racing cars such as the 917/10 and 917/30, and the experience gained was applied to series production. The air-cooled 6-cylinder boxer engine with turbocharging had a displacement of 3.0 litres and an output of 260 hp. A value that could compete with the super sports cars from Italy and England at the time. Already at the end of 1977, the displacement was increased to 3.3 litres. Together with a higher compression ratio and the use of an intercooler, the output rose to 300 hp. The brake system was adapted to the higher engine power, the four-piston aluminium brake callipers were derived from the Porsche 917 racing car. The visual differences of the 911 Turbo are strongly widened front and rear wings with a wider track as well as a large rear wing with a distinctive rubber edge, under which the intercooler is concealed. Initially, the 911 Turbo was only available as a coupé. From model year 1987, the Turbo was also available as a Targa (297 units) and Cabriolet (2,366 units). From 1981 onwards, a flat front conversion (not ex-works) with flip-up headlights in Porsche 935 look instead of upright headlights in the wing housings was available for the 911 Turbo via the special request programme ("Sonderwunsch"). From 1984 onwards this so-called "Flatnose" or "Slantnose" could then be ordered directly via Porsche Exclusive under the code M505 (USA) or M 506 (rest of the world) and was installed in the ongoing vehicle production. In addition, three further separate bodywork options were available: entrance trim (widened side skirts) on the left and right, air intake shafts on the rear wings and wheel arch vents on the front wings. The "Flatnose" option was an expensive and exclusive extra. It cost around DM 40,000 and, according to Porsche, was only produced a total of 686 times ex-works within the Exclusive programme from 1984 to 1989, of which only around 230 examples were produced as Turbo Cabriolets (model years 1987 to 1989 only). The 5-speed gearbox (G50) was only installed in the 1989 model year resulting in only in 175 units (Coupé, Targa, Cabriolet).
