Description

The Porsche 993 represents the final evolution of the air cooled 911, and for many enthusiasts it remains one of the most complete generations Porsche ever built. It kept everything people love about the classic 911: compact proportions, unmistakable styling and a naturally aspirated flat six engine, while adding a far more sophisticated chassis and enough refinement to make it genuinely enjoyable on long journeys as well. By model year 1996, Porsche had developed the Carrera even further with the more powerful 286 hp VarioRam engine. That makes these later 993 Carreras particularly interesting today. Still properly analogue, still unmistakably air cooled, but with just that little extra performance and usability.

This Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Coupé was produced on 22 December 1995 and first registered on 26 February 1996. Originally built for the Dutch market, it is powered by the 3.6 litre air cooled flat six producing 286 hp, driving the rear wheels through the Tiptronic transmission. And the specification is exactly right for this kind of car. It was ordered in classic L92M Polar Silver Metallic with an FK dark blue leather interior. Silver over blue is such a proper nineties Porsche combination: understated, elegant and much more interesting than the usual silver over black. Factory equipment includes the lowered sports chassis, 18 inch Techno wheels, electrically adjustable comfort seats, electric sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, onboard computer, rear window wiper, headlamp washers and Tiptronic steering wheel controls. It is a very complete and usable specification that suits the Carrera 2 perfectly.

The car has now covered approximately 114,950 kilometres and comes with a particularly complete and well documented service history. It has been maintained consistently and at the correct intervals throughout its life, with the original service book and accompanying documentation providing a clear and credible overview of the car’s history. More importantly, a serious amount of technical work has already been carried out very recently. In November 2025, at 114,425 kilometres, more than €7,100 was invested by a Porsche specialist. The work included engine oil and filters, brake maintenance, brake fluid, engine seals and gaskets, air conditioning service, ignition components, belts and Tiptronic transmission servicing. This was followed by a further invoice of more than €3,600 in April 2026. Rear suspension components and track rods were replaced, ventilation related components were renewed and the car subsequently received a professional wheel alignment.

That means more than €10,700 has been invested in the car very recently. Exactly the kind of thing you want to see on a 993 of this age. No long list of overdue jobs, no neglected maintenance waiting for the next owner. The important technical work has already been taken care of. The documentation is equally complete. The car comes with its original Porsche service book, Dutch language owner’s manuals, Porsche Classic vehicle identification documentation, German registration documents, historic inspection reports, recent maintenance invoices, Belgian import documentation and two sets of keys.

For us, this is exactly what a good 993 Carrera should be. A late 286 hp Carrera 2, finished in a great colour combination, equipped with the right options, supported by a complete service history and with substantial recent maintenance already carried out. A very usable, very well documented air cooled 911 that is ready to be driven and enjoyed
