Description
MG – the abbreviation for “Morris Garage” – became famous as a brand. The Abingdon plant south of Oxford had been producing sports cars since 1929. When the MG TC was launched in September 1945, it was already a classic car. But it was the reason for the great export success in the USA. The MG Midget perfectly embodied the idea of the affordable sports car from 1961 onwards. The saying went: “You don’t really need more car, you just have to be young or young at heart!” In 1979, the last genuine English sports car was cancelled without replacement. Certainly a bad decision, like so many in British automotive engineering. So it is all the more pleasing that you can still buy the MG Midget today.
Our MG Midget MK IV Convertible is not as purist as it looks: It has crank windows, lockable doors and a boot accessible from the outside. As an English sports car, it is of course a right-hand drive. The classic car was a member of the family in Germany for a long time. Now it is lonely and looking for friendship. In return, it can be a reliable companion.
