In early 1963, Mercedes-Benz launched a new version of the sporty SL-Class. The W 113 series, which was very modern for its time and nicknamed the ‘Pagoda’ due to the characteristic concave shape of its hardtop, was introduced to the market. As always with Mercedes-Benz, there was constant refinement in the details. The 230 SL became the 250 SL and, in its final iteration, the 280 SL. This sporty classic was a harmonious combination, particularly when fitted with the automatic gearbox, which was available as an optional extra.
Our Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster was delivered in Germany in 1969 and later made its way to the USA. It has been back in Germany for around 20 years. It was restored in 2007/2008 and given a new paint finish as well as new leather upholstery. his classic car is of a high standard.
