The Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC was the undisputed flagship of the W126 Coupé range. Introduced in 1985, it was conceived as a luxurious Grand Tourer for customers who desired all the comfort and engineering excellence of the S-Class, yet preferred the elegance of a two-door coupé. Its body was more aerodynamic than that of its predecessor and featured a remarkably graceful design, in which some even recognized a subtle Italian influence.

Beneath the hood lies the legendary 5.5-liter M117 V8, producing approximately 300 horsepower in European specification. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The SEC gathers speed effortlessly, without drama, urgency, or excessive noise. The V8 propels the car forward with serene confidence, while the cabin does everything possible to make you forget just how quickly you are traveling. This is not a nervous sports car, but a grand coupé designed for covering long distances, maintaining high cruising speeds, and arriving at your destination with such understated elegance that lengthy introductions are usually unnecessary.

This particular example is finished in Black with a beige interior. It is not a complicated color combination, but one that remains every bit as sophisticated nearly four decades later. The black exterior gives the car an unmistakable sense of authority, while the light-colored interior keeps the atmosphere elegant and inviting. The cabin is also presented in exceptionally beautiful condition, with its leather upholstery, wood trim, and meticulous craftsmanship serving as a perfect reminder of why Mercedes-Benz earned such an outstanding reputation during this era.

Luxury equipment is naturally abundant. The electrically adjustable seats feature a memory function, while the power sliding sunroof provides additional light and fresh air. Lower the side windows and, thanks to the absence of a B-pillar, the entire side of the cabin opens up into one uninterrupted space—one of the most elegant design features of the SEC.

The exterior is presented in exceptionally well-kept condition, with excellent panel fit throughout. The attractive alloy wheels and glass are equally well cared for. Inside, the beautiful upholstery is complemented by a dashboard that remains in excellent condition. The engine runs quietly yet delivers impressive performance, while the automatic transmission operates exactly as it should. Once underway, it immediately becomes clear that this example drives exceptionally well.

Its history is comprehensively documented. The original owner's manuals are still present in their original portfolio, and a substantial collection of maintenance invoices accompanies the car. Throughout its life, servicing was carried out predominantly by an official Mercedes-Benz dealership.

A black Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC with a beautiful beige interior, an extensive documented history, and a magnificent 5.5-liter V8. Timeless. German engineering from another era.
