**Mercedes Benz 250CE W114, MY 1971, 2470cm3, 110kW / 150PS, air conditioning, tachometer

**In January 1968, Mercedes Benz presented its new model for the upper-middle class, the W114 and W115 series, also known as the "Stroke 8" after its year of introduction.
Its timeless classic design was penned by Paul Bracq, while its technical features were particularly impressive, including its modern semi-trailing-arm rear axle, four-wheel disc brakes and now maintenance-free front axle.

The Stroke 8 was a success.
Almost 2 million vehicles were produced -- as many as all post-war Mercedes Benz vehicles combined.

Only around 3.5% of production accounted for the beautifully designed coupé -- and we are delighted to be able to offer an exceptionally well-preserved example of one. Our 250CE was first delivered in Italy and spent its "active life" there, before finding its way back to Germany a few years ago. Its previous owners clearly treated the car well -- it is very well maintained and apparently rust-free, and probably always has been. We were unable to find any welding work anywhere on the entire vehicle -- a small sensation on a Mercedes Benz Stroke 8!

All the doors, wheel arches and even the rust-prone rear end sections of the Stroke 8 are in perfect shape. The transitions between the rear sills and wheel arches, and between the wheel arches and rear end sections, are just as they left the factory -- an absolute rarity among the surviving vehicles of this model series. The bodywork transitions and panel gaps are also flawless.

The paintwork on our coupé was presumably renewed many years ago to a good standard. It still impresses today with its rich shine and gives the car an elegant appearance. There are minor signs of use, but they are in no way distracting.

The interior, with its beige MB-Tex seats and door panels, is in remarkably good, unrestored original condition -- with no damage or stains on the seat upholstery.
Only the dashboard shows its age in the form of a few small cracks -- presumably a reminder of the sunshine in Bella Italia.

Technically, our coupé is also in the finest original condition. Once warmed up, the 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine runs smoothly and powerfully. The car moves through today's traffic with light-footed confidence -- Mercedes motoring as it should be.
The clutch, transmission and brakes also work flawlessly.

Extras and upgrades include ...

... factory-fitted air conditioning (requires servicing)

... tachometer

... clock in centre console

... Becker radio with electric aerial

... H4 headlights, auxiliary lights

... right-hand exterior mirror

We will hand over the coupé with a valid general inspection (August 2028), historic vehicle certification and a Classic Data short appraisal for your insurance.

We would be happy to make you an attractive offer for transport to your home.

The stated mileage has been read from the odometer. Further pictures can be found on our website oldtimer-galerie-alzenau.de
