Lagonda fu fondata a Staines nel 1906 da un americano, Wilbur Gunn. Gunn iniziò a produrre motociclette prima di lanciare la sua prima auto, la Type 20, nel 1906. WO Bentley entrò in azienda nel 1936 per produrre la LG45 e la V12.
