This outstanding, accurate aluminium bodied Jaguar C Type recreation was supplied by us to its most recent owner back in 2021. The Jaguar has been built with a Suffolk Sportscar chassis to a ‘Works Specification’ along with their suspension, braking, steering, cooling, electrical and fuel systems. The C Type is equipped with a 3.4 Jaguar unit and as per the 1951 Works cars, it has twin SU carburettors and looks very much period 1950’s Jaguar. Having covered around 1200 miles since build, the C Type is truly immaculate, and in exceptional condition both in terms of mechanicals and cosmetics.

Once the fully rolling Suffolk chassis was built up it was transported to Simon Isles Coachbuilding for a full aluminium body using original C Type dimensions. The Jaguar 3.4 engine supplied and rebuilt by TG McKee (Wilbert) to include new shells, bearings and gaskets. An XJ6 big valve injection head was ported and gas flowed and the inlet manifold ported and matched. The Vernier cam timing was adjusted to give longer valve opening time and a new timing chain fitted. The engine was then fitted by Simon Isles Coachbuilding and tuned on rolling road by Rick Wood Racing. The wiring loom supplied by Suffolk Jaguar, seats trimmed by Suffolk Sportscars. On build up, the C was taken back to Suffolk Sportscars and £14226 spent on final works.

Since completion the Jaguar is nicely run in and is truly outstanding as it was four years ago when supplying it, it looks incredible. The bodywork, paintwork and engine bay detailing are first class and mechanically the car is as new, truly exceptional. If looking for a totally top class all aluminium C Type, this car will meet expectations without the hassle and wait time of a fresh build. On the road this is an incredible machine with a perfect engine holding excellent oil pressure, fabulous smooth changing Jaguar gearbox and handling and braking are what you would expect of a seven figure original car. Since last seeing the car it has been fitted with a dual brake servo and the carbs have been fully rebuilt.
