This car is in good condition. The car is original in its entirety. The paint on the car looks good and so does the interior of the car. The air suspension also works well, as it should. This car is really ideal for an enthusiast.
The Citroën CX is a model of the French car brand Citroën that was sold between 1974 and 1991. A total of 1,042,460 CX saloons were produced. The CX is often referred to as the 'last true' Citroën, before Peugeot took control of the company in 1974. The CX was voted 1975 Car of the Year.
The CX was available as a 4-door 'Berline', as a 'Break' and an extended sedan version: the 'Prestige' in petrol version and 'Limousine' in diesel version. The CX is the successor to the ID / DS and again featured Citroën's unique hydropneumatic suspension system.
In 1985, the entire CX range was given a facelift, with plastic bumpers in the color of the body and a more 'normal' dashboard with clocks, which might also appeal to 'non-citrophiles'. It was striking that after the facelift the radio was mounted laterally between the two front seats, next to the handbrake. In the period between the transition from type 1 to type 2, an 'intermediate model' was manufactured (only equipped with the GTI turbo engine). A mix of type 1 and type 2 with body-colored steel bumpers and the new 'clocks' of the type 2 model. The upholstery was also adapted. Rust prevention was improved, and the engines were again improved and expanded.
The top model became the Citroën CX Prestige Turbo II, equipped with an intercooled turbo engine of 168 hp and special Michelin TRX tires, developed for high speeds (later the TRD was also equipped with an intercooler: the TRD Turbo 2 with an output of 120 hp). The equipment level for those days was at an exceptionally high level with disc brakes all around, optional ABS, automatic height adjustment, servo power steering (Diravi); electrically operated windows and (heated) rear view mirrors (all adjustable from the driver's seat), air conditioning, optional cruise control and central door locking with remote control.
