BMWs erstes viersitziges Economy-Auto der Nachkriegszeit
Ursprünglich stammt die Isetta von dem Motorradhersteller Iso Rivolta, die 1954 auf dem Turiner Autosalon als ISO-Isetta vorgestellt wurde.
Bald wurde ISO mit BMW handelseinig und so kam die Isetta zu BMW ins Boot. 1957 stellte BMW eine 4-sitzige Variante der Isetta vor. Zur Frottür gab es zusätzlich eine Seitentür und eine Rücksitzbank. Die Motorisierung erfolgte mit einem umkonstruierten Motorradmotor aus dem Modell R 60.
