Description

In the mid-20th century, the union of engineering brilliance and visionary creativity gave rise to Austin-Healey. Their legacy in the world of sports cars has not only reshaped automotive history, both on the road and on the world's racetracks, but has also left an everlasting mark. The iconic 3000 series, with its triumphant presence at renowned venues like Sebring, Le Mans, and Bathurst, stands as a testament to their remarkable journey.
By the late 1950s, Austin-Healey had already captured the affections of many, particularly in the American market. While the 1956 100/6 roadster garnered praise, its 2.6-liter engine fell short in comparison to its rivals. Responding to this challenge, the transformative 3000 made its debut in 1959. Though its external appearance remained unaltered, beneath the surface, the 3000 harbored a robust engine of nearly 3 liters, complete with twin carburetors. This upgrade was complemented by the adoption of front disc brakes in lieu of drums.

Our Austin-Healey 3000MKII, assembled in 1962, epitomizes the essence of a driver's dream. Dressed in a captivating ice blue metallic and old English white, harmoniously accentuated by dark blue bucket seats, it exudes timeless elegance.
Between 2014 and 2016, a remarkable restoration journey unfolded for this vehicle, under the meticulous stewardship of a dedicated team based in New York. Over the course of these two years, no detail escaped their attention. Every facet received the care it merited, ranging from the comprehensive refinements to the bodywork to the intricate attentiveness bestowed upon the suspension and gearbox. From the application of paint to the restoration of chrome embellishments, every inch underwent a deliberate renewal process, ensuring a flawless appearance. Each element underwent scrupulous scrutiny, and if necessary, was expertly replaced. Even the engine and transmission underwent thorough disassembly and careful analysis, ensuring that they would operate at peak performance.
The outcome is a flawlessly maintained body that impeccably reflects the overarching quality. This comprehensive transformation is substantiated by an extensive array of invoices, totaling an impressive sum of $60,000. Beneath the hood resides a 2912 CC 6-cylinder in-line engine, skillfully coupled with twin Su HS6 carburettors. This combination realizes its utmost potential, especially when paired with the overdrive feature. The presence of front disc brakes and rear drums ensures the ideal stopping power, even during spirited drives.
