Description

Built on the 25th November 1955. This car was dispatched to North America. The car retains its original factory colour scheme of black car with red interior. The car returned to the UK in the early 1990’s where it was subjected to a ground up restoration by a previous marque specialist where it was converted to RHD. First registered in the UK and on its age-related number in 2009. The car complete minimal mileage after its completion until the current owner purchased in 2023. During current ownership, significant expenditure has been spent on enhancing the car into a highly usable fast road / tourer.

The car first visited JME in June 2023 where a considerable mechanical overhaul and enhancements were undertaken, this included Polybush front and rear suspension,  front disc brake conversion with servo, Alfin rear drums, woodrim steering wheel, gearbox rebuild, new aluminium fuel tank, LED lighting, aluminium radiator & electric fan kit, new Blockley 185VR15 tyres, new windscreen, new hood and tonneau cover. 2024 was the cars first European tour which saw the car perform faultlessly.

During the winter of 2024, the decision was made to remove the engine for fast road performance upgrades.  The car now sports a full steel cranked Richard Parker fast road engine, a Peter Burgess ported aluminium cylinder head, forged pistons, roller rockers, JME spec side exit manifold and silencer system and MSD ignition unit. An electronic water pump was installed to aid cooling and a 3.54:1 final drive ratio fitted to aid cruising speeds with the addition engine performance. During the engine rebuild, the owner sourced all correct period 100M components, this included original 100M H6 carburettors and inlet manifolds along with the correct 100M distributor. The summer of 2025 saw the car enjoy its 2nd European tour with its fast road spec engine.

The car has had considerable funds spent over the past 3 years to enhance its performance and reliability. Invoices of all work completed by JME is supplied with the car. An incredibly fun car to drive with impressive performance and road handling. The steering of the car is responsive and smooth. Overdrive operates instantly and smoothly. Excellent oil pressure hot and cold with consistent running temperatures thanks to the electric water pump. 3-point seatbelts are installed.

Provided with the car is its original front drum brakes should the new buyer wish to revert back to factory spec.

The vehicle is accompanied by its original tools, jack and handbook. Also with the car is an impressive folder containing documentation history & invoices, V5C Registration document, Heritage certificate, engine dyno figures, 100M registry certification and collated 100M history and details.
