The AC Cobra MkIV from the Brian Angliss Autokraft era, better known as the AC MkIV, has become a sought after classic car nowadays as collectors realise how well these quality sportscars were actually constructed. Built by AC Cars in the famous Brooklands factory, with full aluminium body (based on the original jigs of the MkIII Cobra 427) on a tubular chassis, and equipped with a reliable and powerful Ford 302 ci. V8 engine. A little more then 350 examples were produced between 1982 and 1995 which makes it quite a rare beast.
The Cobra we offer for sale is AK1100. We sold this car 16 years ago to a gentleman who kept it until now and put approximately an extra 3.444 miles on the clocks since. We bought this Cobra in 2009 with only 6186 miles on the odometer. It was a beautiful machine but we prefered the classic Cobra 427 looks so we had the car converted by AC Heritage to match the famous 'Lightweight' specification : 15" Hallibrand wheels instead of the standard 16" items, chrome bumpers deleted and a 427 style dashboard with classic Smiths instruments. The car is still mostly in first paint and comes with a full black interior. The hood and tonneau cover are still with the car as well and in perfect condition. The Cobra is registered on a Belgian numberplate and is immediately available. It is well documented, including period pictures of the conversion by AC Heritage in 2010.
A LHD AC Cobra MkIV with this specification is not coming often on the market. This fantastic example is a real joy to ride and a guaranteed blue chip investment due to its perfect condition and rarity.
