John Deere Classic Cars for Sale

John Deere, also known as Deere & Company, was founded in 1837 by the inventor and industrialist of the same name. Over the years, John Deere has utilized its origin in plow manufacturing to establish a worldwide leading position in the production of agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery.

John Deere's Start as a Plow Manufacturer

Following its foundation, John Deere initially focused on plow manufacturing. In the search for a solution to the tough cultivation of the Midwest soil with existing plows, Deere designed a plow that was better suited for the task. His "Singing Plow" was an instant success and served as a starting point for the company to expand its product range and diversify into other areas of agricultural equipment production. In 1918, the company began producing tractors.

The John Deere Classics

In the 1960s, John Deere reached a milestone with the introduction of the 4020 model. The 4020 was a high-performance tractor that took the company to a new level of production and sales. This model is still one of the most well-known and popular models of the brand, particularly in the used market.

Popular vintage models of John Deere include models 620, 720, and 820. Among the highly rare vintage John Deere models is the limited-production Waterloo Boy.

The Waterloo Boy, the first tractor model the company produced after acquiring the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company, is a popular vintage John Deere.

The John Deere Logo

The John Deere logo is unmistakably green and yellow. At the heart of the logo is a jumping deer, symbolizing the company and its connection to agriculture. In the logo's evolution, the deer has changed its orientation, now facing forward, emphasizing the company's progressive direction.
