Description

This is not your usual 1972 Mercedes 280SE! Commissioned by GQ Magazine to celebrate the fifth anniversary of London Fashion Week Men’s in June 2017, finished in black and Moss Green paintwork with black vinyl interior, this truly is a one-off car!

GQ creative director Patrick Grant was given an eight-month time frame to create this amazing bespoke car. He used silk weavers Norton & Sons to supply material for the interior of the car with a design from the same year that the car was produced. Ray Ward Gunmakers were tasked with creating the hand-carved traditional scroll designs for the interior door handles.

Suspension from Air Lift Performance has been used to re-create the original concept sketches of the car that showed no gap between the wheel and wheel arch. The cost of this was £13,000. This system allows you to change the ride height on the go, so one minute you can be looking sleek and low and the next raised so you can clear that inevitable speed hump!

In the boot of the car you will find a one-off 28-inch leather case, made by the 120-year old British luggage designers Globe-Trotter which includes a special compartment for some tools.

The original Bosch mechanical fuel injection has been replaced by a modern standalone management system and mappable ECU by Lloyd Specialist Development at a cost of £11,000.

If all this wasn’t enough for you, the car’s Beck Europa head unit has been converted to Bluetooth and packs a serious punch with the upgraded speakers and subwoofer in the cabin. The cost of this audio system was in excess of £20,000.

The next owner of this superb example will take delivery with a fresh service, 12 months MOT and our 6-month comprehensive warranty.

You will not find another car anything like this one!
