The brand Lancia was known from 1906 onwards during a large part of the previous century for manufacturing high-quality automobiles. With advanced technologies, new ideas were implemented in their models, which other brands only adopted much later. With a thoughtful blend of comfort, sportiness, agility, and durability, Lancias were vehicles for connoisseurs. While other brands were focused on large production volumes, Lancia was oriented towards an unusual approach of craftsmanship and production. By producing everything in-house, even the components, the Italian brand could manufacture vehicles with an extraordinary attention to detail. With beautiful and compact engines and innovative ideas, Lancia set the tone for the automotive industry. Did you know, for example, that in the 1950s, Lancia had 8,000 employees to produce 10,000 cars per year?

Lancia introduced the Aurelia in 1950, a significant car for the brand, as it was the most advanced car of its time. With the world's first V6 production engine, designed by Francesco De Virgilio (also the husband of Rita Lancia), rear-mounted gearbox, and independent suspension, the Aurelia was destined for connoisseurs but also for drivers due to its perfect handling.

In 1951, the Aurelia coupé, named B20, was introduced, and after incredible success at the Mille Miglia, the B24 Spider with a panoramic wind shield followed in 1954. Lancia was always striving to further develop their cars, and thus, in 1956, the B24 Convertible was introduced; a perfected Aurelia. While the Spider was available in both left and right-hand drive, the Convertible was exclusively available as a left-hand drive variant. A balanced Aurelia with a high level of refinement.

The example we offer is an Aurelia B24 Convertible from 1958. A truly magnificent Aurelia in light blue with a beige interior. Lancia produced only 521 Convertibles. This example stands out with its matching numbers engine and attractive colour scheme. Additionally, this B24 has been fully restored and overhauled. With this B24, we provide the Lancia Certificate of Origin, proving that the engine of this example has matching numbers.

The exterior is stunning, and the paintwork looks marvellous. The chrome has the correct appearance, not too shiny, as it should be for a Lancia, and the wire wheels are in very good condition. The doors close very precisely with the familiar and refined sound, as one would expect of a good Aurelia. The body panels fit together nicely with beautiful alignments. The light blue body finish is very attractive.

Inside, we find again the high level of refinement for which an Aurelia is known. Everything is in very good condition. The correct rubber mats fit perfectly. The seats have been reupholstered and are in beautiful condition. The gauges, along with the correct steering wheel, look excellent.

Under the hood, we can only but conclude that everything appears in well-maintained and very good order. Details are correct. Driving this Aurelia is fantastic. The V6 engine starts immediately and responds excellently to the throttle. The sliding pillar front suspension, also adjustable, absorbs unevenness excellently, and driving this Lancia is a wonderful blend of sportiness and refinement. The steering feel is great, and the V6 engine does its job effortlessly.
