The bird is not driving fast, just flying slowly.

The Chevrolet Corvette managed to attract a large number of enthusiasts to the brand in the 1950s. Ford had to respond to this, to prevent everyone in the 'sporting' group from switching to Chevrolet. Ford, in turn, came with a remarkable car in 1955. A beautifully long two-seater sport convertible, something that Ford hadn't dared to venture for years. The result was beautiful; a Gran Tourer with a very futuristic carriage. Now we call it 'The Rocket Era', with the rocket points on the front bumper and the 'Rocket thrusters' as exhaust just above the rear bumper.

Outside of the totally new design language of the Thunderbird, Ford came up with a few scoops for the car world; a handlebar adjustable in depth, power steering, partly electrically adjustable seats and a transparent counter. Ours has it all! This thunder bird has been completely restored and is in very good condition.

Mrs. Freeman from Santa Barbara, California took good care of the Ford. The original title (copy) is still present. In the Netherlands, the Ford has been in a collection, which is now going on sale. We think this is one of the most beautiful American Cool Classics, certainly with the Torch Red exterior and red-white leather interior. Who's going to (re) live the American dream ??

Die Chevrolet Corvette hat es in den 1950er Jahren geschafft, eine große Anzahl von Enthusiasten für die Marke zu begeistern. Ford musste darauf reagieren, um zu verhindern, dass jeder in der "sportlichen" Gruppe zu Chevrolet wechselt. Ford wiederum kam 1955 mit einem bemerkenswerten Auto. Ein wunderschön langes Zweisitzer-Sportcabrio, etwas, das Ford seit Jahren nicht mehr gewagt hatte. Das Ergebnis war wunderschön; ein Gran Tourer mit einer sehr futuristischen Kutsche. Jetzt nennen wir es "The Rocket Era", mit den Raketenpunkten auf der vorderen Stoßstange und den "Rocket Thrusters" als Auspuff direkt über der hinteren Stoßstange.

Abgesehen von der völlig neuen Designsprache des Thunderbird hat Ford ein paar Ideen für die Autowelt entwickelt. ein in der Tiefe verstellbarer Lenker, Servolenkung, teilweise elektrisch verstellbare Sitze und eine transparente Theke. Unseres hat alles! Dieser Donnervogel wurde komplett restauriert und ist in einem sehr guten Zustand.

Mrs. Freeman aus Santa Barbara, Kalifornien, kümmerte sich gut um den Ford. Der Originaltitel (Kopie) ist noch vorhanden. In den Niederlanden war der Ford in einer Kollektion, die jetzt zum Verkauf steht. Wir denken, dass dies einer der schönsten amerikanischen Cool Classics ist, mit Sicherheit mit dem Torch Red Exterieur und dem rot-weißen Leder Interieur.
