Description

A restored example of Ferrari’s 250 Pininfarina Coupe. Methodically and completely restored by the current owner over the last 5 years to the original Factory specification.

Work includes a documented bare metal respray, fully rebuilt type 128F outside plug engine rebuilt by Colin Clark, an expertly re trimmed interior as well as all chassis and suspension components being rebuilt or replaced.

A number of important developments occurred during the 250GT production; The original 128C 3.0-litre engine being superseded by the twin-distributor 128D, which in turn was supplanted in 1960 by the outside-plug 128F engine which did away with its predecessor's siamesed inlets in favour of six separate ports. on the chassis side, four-wheel disc brakes arrived late in 1959 providing the 250GT with stopping power to match its speed. A four-speed-plus-overdrive gearbox following in 1960.

Interestingly S/N 1689 was delivered with a seemingly unique engine cover featuring a centre chromed band.
