Description

1937 Alvis Speed 25 Charlesworth Saloon
Chassis number: 14483
Registration Number: 14483
A beautifully preserved example residing in a Spainsh collection of over 50 cars. The collection has its own classic car mechanic whom has looked after it & serviced it during the current ownership.
This rare Charlesworth Speed 25 has a beautifully preserved original interior in tobacco coloured leather. An assortment of non standard additional instrumentation is found in the centre below the dash board containing amongst other this an aircraft style altimeter.
The car is finihsed in very good & presentable Black paint over cream. A double sunroof is installed as when new allowing either the front or the rear to be open. All woodwork is original & in nice condition.
Under the bonnet the car is equally tidy. The 3.5 Litre 7 bearing engine starts instantly & provides plenty of power giving spirited performance for which these cars were rightly renowned. The all synchromesh gear box needless to say is perfect with Alvis pre war gear boxes being amongst the best of any made.
The best thing about this car is the unmolested yet lovely condition in which we find it. Several decades living in the sunny climes of Spain have been kind to it & preserved it very very well. As part of a collection of over 50 cars it has seen sparing but regular use. Indicated mileage is 20069 which we assume to be 120,069. An engraved plaque omn the dash board attests to the car having been supplied by Arthur Mulliner of Northampton.
Thses speed 25's make a great & faster more sporty alternative to a derby Bentley. This car is European taxes paid & has a UK export marker on it from DVLA records. Viewings are by appointment near Valencia.
