Now you have the rare opportunity to call one of only 13 ever produced Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I Drophead Coupes by H.J. Mulliner your own.
The Rolls Royce Silver Cloud was first publicly shown in 1955. It was the first modell from Rolls Royce in the new smoother design, with an improved chassis and a longer wheelbase. The legendary F-head 4.9 litre inline six zylinder engine from its predecessor was last used in the Series I. Thanks to his two SU-carburetors and an for the american market increased cumbostion of 8:1, the engine puts out a whopping 178 PS.
The standard bodywork of the Rolls Royce was very popular, but for some customers this was not quite exlusive enough. Those who wanted a more open driving feeling took their cars to one of the most renowned coachbuilders of the time, like James Yound or H.J. Mulliner. Over the years different types of Drophead Coupes were built.
The car on offer with the chassis number LSMH169 was adapted by H.J. Mulliner to design 7504, which was first presented on the New York Auto Show in 1959. Only 13 cars were ever built, ten in left hand configuration for the American market and three in right hand configuration for British customers. For the as "adaptation" called conversion, Mulliner used the steel body panels of the limousine and adjusted them so that a two door Drophead Coupe was created. The multilayered softtop is well isolated. The 13 original "adaptions" of the design 7504 created by Mulliner are not to be mistaken with various later conversion done by different companies.
Originally configurated in Velvet Green with a Tan leather interior, the Rolls Royce now presents itself in Mason's Black with a red leather interior.
Since 1995 the car is owned by the same family and just changed hands between some of their members.
