Lagonda LG45 'Rapide' four-seater tourer, year 1937. Chassis number 12178, engine number M45/160, wheelhouse number 6087/47. Colour: grey metallic, combined with a dark red leather interior and a black mohair hood and tonneau cover. The Lagonda LG45 is a very rare car; only 278 examples were built between 1936 and 1937.

The engine features the SU carburetors bolted directly onto the cylinder head, a feature of the last 'Sanction Three' models with a cross-flow manifold integrated into the cylinder head. The car was sold new with a 'De Ville' saloon body. In 1994, the chassis was fitted with the current spectacular 'Rapide' four-seater tourer body, hand-built by the renowned British coachbuilder Rod Jolley.

Mechanically and technically, the car has been completely and beautifully restored and overhauled by LMB in Belgium. The original gearbox (with only synchromesh on second gear) was replaced with a fully synchronized Alvis gearbox, a costly and complex modification that significantly improved the handling and driving experience. This Lagonda LG45 'Rapide' is in superb condition and drives and handles superbly.
