The Jaguar XJ has been produced across four fundamental platform generations (launched in 1968, 1986, 2003, and 2009), each evolving through a series of carefully developed derivatives. From 1970 onwards, it established itself as Jaguar’s flagship four-door saloon. The original model, designed under the leadership of Sir William Lyons, the company’s founder, marked the final Jaguar saloon conceived under his direction.
