Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this low mileage BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition. Two years after his first title win, BMW M4 driver Marco Wittmann (GER) once again secured the driver’s title in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) at the 2016 season finale at the Hockenheimring. To honour this achievement, BMW unveiled the limited edition road-legal M4 DTM Champion Edition with a worldwide production run of 200 cars.
The BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition is a concentrate of power and sportiness derived from BMW's racing experience. Building upon the M4 GTS – which was also strictly limited in numbers – the M4 DTM Champion Edition uses the same sensational 493bhp water-injected straight-six turbo engine and is capable of a 0-62 mph sprint in just 3.8 seconds. In true BMW style, all of the power is fed to the rear wheels through a seven-speed M Double-Clutch transmission with Drivelogic. The racing-derived suspension is mechanically adjustable in three positions, both for suspension and damping. The colour for all 200 units was “Alpine White” adorned with the now familiar BMW M stripes in three colours, a sure reference to the history of the German brand in competitions. Several body parts including the bonnet, the roof, the instrument panel support, and the rear diffuser were made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) to reduce the weight of the car. Optimal contact with the road is ensured by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 high-performance tyres size 265/35 R19 at the front and 285/30 R20 at the rear designed specifically for use on the racetrack and mounted on light alloys boasting a star spoke design 666 M in Orbit Grey matt. M carbon-ceramic brakes guarantee fade-free braking even in tough racing conditions.
Inside the two-seater BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition 2016, both driver and co-driver sit in M Carbon bucket seats covered in exclusive Alcantara/Leather Merino. The entire interior is lined with exceptionally high-quality covering material Alcantara, also used on the M Sports steering wheel featuring a grey “12 o’clock” marker. Behind the front bucket seats of the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition, a white rollover bar replaces the rear seat system.
