Beschrijving

DT1 250 MX (dirt bike) first generation (most interesting type!) and road legal. Nuts and bolts restored in 2017 without looking at any costs. A very nice 106kg including battery and lights. And a nice dark 2-stroke sound.

An MX has the Yamaha GYT 30hp kit from factory. The standard DT had 22hp. All formal paperwork available. The only MX i know in the Netherlands. Legal road conversion (added 12V lights+Brake light / horn / noice max. 95dB / M&S tyres).

Total restauration costs on (NOS) parts and professional work = € 9.700. And on top of this are  hunderds of hours labour from myself. (i got profesional education but do restaurations only as a hobby).

Full technical and optical restoration on this first generation DT1. No savings on quality. I kept different original parts and chrome and patina when it had good quality and looks, otherwise the bike would look "over" restored. Upgraded with WORKS rims and stainless steel butted spokes. I bought all NOS parts i could find. So the bike looks stunning. You can expect the best. New crankshaft, 1971 new yamaha race piston, nicasil coated cilinder (match with the piston) etc. etc. The gas tank has been painted by Mike, he was in those days part of the Yamaha racing team and also the designer of the yellow black yamaha striping, and the Bell helmets etc. those days. Because of the road conversion i did not install the nobby tyres. No Speedo meter, i use a GPS watch on the steering wheel.

Comes with a few original parts, like the original bolts. And lots of (partly digital) documentation, maintenance manuals, magazine storys, vintage photo's etc.

Dit is een MX (crosmotor) uit de eerste generatie DT series, op blauw kenteken en in 2017 tot in detail gerestaureerd. Ik kocht bewust dit type. In 1971 kreeg de DT1 namelijk een gemodificeerde voorvork die veel beter was dan voorgaande jaren. Dit maakt het grootste verschil t.o.v. 1968-1970. Verder waren het alleen kleine verbeteringen t.o.v. 1968-1970. Eind productie van de DT1 serie was 1971, daarna kwam de DT2 uit. 

Ik heb geen 2e 250MX in Nederland gezien, Yamaha Nederland heeft er blijkbaar nog 1 en verder ken ik er geen enkele.

2-takt circa 30PK (een MX heeft een GYT kit, de straat versie had 22PK), net boven 100kg (incl. verlichting en Gel accu). Matching numbers. 

De benzinetank is in 2015 opnieuw gespoten door Mike, in de jaren ’70 was hij spuiter van het Yamaha racing team (California), en o.a. de ontwerper van de jaren ’70 Yamaha strepen (rood-wit, geel-zwart en later ook het kleuren design van Bell helmen). Het is geen top spuitwerk maar vanwege het verhaal ben ik er niet aangekomen.

Omgebouwd naar enduro en in 2017 op (blauw)kenteken gezet. 

Nieuwe zaken allemaal NOS/OEM: krukas (montage buitenhuis racing), Yamaha racing zuiger, alle pakkingen, kabels, remblokken, bouten/moeren, lagers waar nodig, en vanalles wat NOS te koop was.

Overig werk: poorten (PS tuning), nicasil coating, alle elektra , custom made demper om door de RDW keuring te komen (PS tuning).

Gepoedercoat frame, gepolijste aluminium onderdelen, plastic gespoten door een autospuiterij, tank coating.

Originele schroeven heb ik bewaard, deze krijg je erbij.

Origineel chroom, met patina want anders is het oldtimer gevoel er teveel af.

YSS nieuwe classic achter schokbrekers, want dat moet gewoon goed zijn, de originele waren lek.

Haan Classic Wheels: opbouw met alu Morad velgen (Works model) en RVS spaken, Continental TCK M+S banden (strakker in de bocht dan enduro banden).

Verlichting werkt rechtstreeks op een 12V accu omdat ik liever niet 6V via de coil had (te vaak doorbranden lampjes ondanks rectifier). De coil upgraden naar 12V is naar mijn weten niet mogelijk. Acculader inclusief, je kunt een paar uur met verlichting aan rijden en remmen.

Geen snelheidsmeter (wel verplicht op de straat), ik gebruik een gps horloge of mijn telefoon op het stuur. Dan zie je geen tellers bij het stuur.

De nieuwe bok krijg je erbij. Een doos oude onderdelen krijg je erbij, niet erg waardevol vanwege matige/slechte staat van de meeste onderdelen. 

Op 1 restauratie foto zie je hem nog met noppen banden/zonder verlichting. Je kunt hem eenvoudig terug bouwen naar een echte MX.

Na de opbouw maar een aantal rondjes om het dorp gereden om de carburateur af te stellen en sindsdien staat hij in de schuur. Ik haal hem 2x of 3x per jaar uit de schuur om het rijdbaar te houden.

Omdat de schuur te vol staat wil ik hem weg doen.

Ik heb een heleboel jaren 70 folders, documentatie, handleidingen en tijdschrift artikelen digitaal bij deze motor beschikbaar. Tevens foto’s van de restauratie. En ook een stripboek waar de motor in voorkomt.

De motor + alle onderdelen hebben afgerond € 9700,- gekost, zonder honderden uren. Het blijft een hobby. 

Wegenbelasting vrij.  

All risk verzekering ca. € 240/jaar incl. een hele luxe opzittenden dekking.

De zwart classic handvaten zitten erop.
