1986 | Volkswagen Coccinelle "50th Anniversary"

In 1985, Volkswagen celebrated the 50th anniversary of its most famous model with the “50 Years of the Beetle” anniversary edition.

My father bought two of these models new in 1986. He drove one of them and professionally stored the other after registering it for one day, intending to bring it out when he retired, which he unfortunately never did. I have now taken the vehicle out of storage after 39 years and had it restored (replacement of necessary parts, seals, etc.). Unfortunately, I have not developed a love for classic cars, so I am now selling this collector's item in mint condition.

This special edition was intended exclusively for the German market and featured a high-quality zinc gray metallic paint finish, green-tinted windows, and chrome bumpers and trim. A discreet “50 Years” emblem on both fenders highlights this edition.

Additional equipment details: 4.5Jx15 sport rims, 165SR15 tires, Blaupunkt Braunschweig radio, upholstered dashboard, fabric upholstery with gray and red stripes, fabric and imitation leather headrests, four-spoke sports steering wheel, gray headliner, gray carpets on the sills and in the rear trunk, heated rear window. Only 3,150 units were built in total.
