Description

Crafted and engineered by TVR at their facility in Blackpool, Lancashire, the TVR Sagaris debuting at the MPH03 Auto Show in 2003, showcased its prowess. Following this, the pre-production model was exhibited at the 2004 Birmingham Motor Show. Derived from the TVR T350, the Sagaris was meticulously designed for endurance racing, evident in its numerous air vents, intake openings, and other features facilitating prolonged track driving without necessitating additional cooling modifications. Notably, the final production model introduced several alterations from its pre-production counterparts, such as uncut wing vents, revised wing mirrors, repositioned fuel filler, and modified bonnet hinges.

In line with TVR's ethos during the 1990s and early 2000s, the Sagaris epitomised the spirit of the old-school driver's car. It boldly rejected the European Union directive mandating ABS in new cars, staying true to TVR's philosophy. This decision was rooted in Peter Wheeler's belief that such features might detract from the raw driving experience. Moreover, the Sagaris proudly went against the trend of electronic driver aids, such as traction control or electronic stability control. This choice emphasised the car's visceral connection with the road, a characteristic that intrigued enthusiasts and drivers. Classic & Sports Car magazine's Malcolm Thorne, acknowledging the car's lack of modern conveniences, admiring its sheer presence, dubbing it "stunning."

The car derives its name from the sagaris, a lightweight battle-axe utilized by the Scythians, renowned for its armor-penetrating capability. Graham Browne spearheaded the Sagaris' design.

Chief Engineer Daniel Boardman, dedicated substantial effort to ensure the Sagaris was impeccably engineered and mistakes of the previous models weren’t repeated. Measures included eliminating bump-steer in the suspension, fine-tuning dampers with input from Bilstein and Multimatic, redesigning the bonnet for optimal functionality, and meticulously inspecting door seals to prevent water ingress. Jeremy Clarkson, a motoring journalist, hailed the resulting product as "the best TVR ever made."

With its aggressive styling, featuring sharp lines and bold curves, the Sagaris commands attention on the road. Equipped with TVR's race-derived Speed Six powerplant, delivering approximately 400 horsepower to the rear wheels, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in around 3.7 seconds, with a top speed reaching approximately 185mph. Its lightweight construction, precise steering, and finely tuned suspension ensure exceptional handling and responsiveness, providing drivers with a thrilling experience.

Inside, the focus remains on the driving experience, featuring a minimalist cabin designed to keep the driver connected to the road. While lacking certain creature comforts, the Sagaris compensates with its sheer performance and driver engagement.

Supplied new by Hilton & Moss and first registered in March 2006, this Sagaris accumulated the majority of its mileage within the first 6 years of its existence. In recent years, it has been driven sparingly, averaging less than 1,000 miles per year since the previous owner acquired it in July 2013. Throughout its 11-year tenure, the car has been meticulously maintained and cherished.

The vehicle boasts a comprehensive service history, evidenced by 17 service stamps in the book, with 12 of those conducted by the Hilton & Moss team. Major mechanical interventions include the installation of a new starter motor, air conditioning re-gas, Nitron suspension upgrade, replacement of catalytic converters, a recent clutch replacement (less than 5,000 miles ago), new engine mounts, and a 12,000-mile service (performed less than 1,500 miles ago).

Adorned in the Ferrari colour of Grigio Titanio (TVR100), complemented by a black and red hide interior with red stitching, this TVR exudes elegance. The vehicle is presented in excellent condition overall. Notable optional features installed from new include air conditioning, CD player, radio, lumbar supports, and leather-trimmed seat backs.

This exquisite Sagaris has undergone thorough preparation by Hilton & Moss, including a comprehensive inspection of the chassis, mechanical components, and bodywork. The vehicle will come with a 12-month warranty and is ready for immediate viewing.

Produced in limited quantities, the TVR Sagaris remains a sought-after collector's item, revered for its distinctive design, thrilling performance, and exclusivity. Its status as an icon of British motoring excellence continues to captivate automotive enthusiasts worldwide. Don't miss the opportunity to own this exceptional TVR Sagaris.
