Description

This fabulous driving, very usable Triumph 2500 S Auto has recently been subject of an engine and gearbox rebuild and offers a beautiful driving experience. A 2500 S is quite a rare find, so much so this is the first we have had in over 20 years. Having been treated to a machine polish and ceramic coating, the paintwork has a very smooth and bright finish. On close inspection there are minor blemishes and imperfections, but this is essentially a very strong, sound and usable classic. When entering the very capacious and comfortable cabin you are met with very well-kept upholstery, and a beautiful wooden dash.

When new, the Triumph 2500 S was strong competition on the forecourt within the mid-size saloon market. The Giovanni Michelotti designed body offers a striking road presence with its low stance and sporty lines. Powered by a super smooth 2.5L inline-six engine, the 2500 S was a very capable car delivering 106 bhp through a refined BorgWarner 3-speed automatic gearbox making it an excellent choice within its class.

EOD 195 was first registered on the 1st November in 1976 and has received regular and light use throughout its time. In recent years it's had a lot of money spent on it, in 2017 the rear of the car was completely treated from any corrosion under the rear seats. Following this piece of bodywork, Saunders Motor Works, a classic car engine reconditioning company completely rebuilt the 2.5L unit. Most recently, in January of 2025, the gearbox was removed and overhauled by an Automatic Transmission Specialist.

The Triumph 2000/2500 series of motor cars offered the sporty performance one would be expecting from a TR6 but with the capacity to comfortably seat 4 adults. Overall, this is a very usable and honest example for those in search of a classic car perfect for travelling with multiple passengers. This is a really honest, usable car and is sensibly priced as a part exchange to clear with current MOT in place until August 2025.

Please note the private plate is not included in the price.
