The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by the German company Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle. The first generation was known internally within Porsche as the Type 9PA (955/957). It was the first V8-engined vehicle built by Porsche since 1995, when the Porsche 928 was discontinued. It is also Porsche's first off-road variant vehicle since its Super and Junior tractors of the 1950s, and the first Porsche with four doors.

For us there is only 1 cool model of Cayenne and that is the first generation and its facelift. These are the only Cayenne that were actually designed by Porsche to go off-road. From 2010 onwards Porsche designed the Cayenne for the street and shopping mall. The first generation Cayenne comes with a low range gearbox, lockers and a full 4x4 drivetrain. This makes them very good off-road to begin with. As we love V8’s at Carcave, we couldn’t resist the Cayenne S which is powered by the 4.5L V8 producing 340 bhp. She does not hang around… 

The example which we are presenting here today may quite possibly be the best Cayenne that you will ever see. Apart from when they were new off course. Even though they are excellent off-roaders, this example is so clean and in good condition this one does not deserve to get dirty. She was originally delivered to Japan, where a left-hand drive car is sort of a status symbol. Being Japanese, she has been extremely well taken care of over the years. With less than 65.000 kms since new, she feels as fresh as the day she rolled out of the factory. There is even still some blue protection plastic on certain parts… 

She is finished in the classic grey metallic paint, which is fully original! This means that she has never been repainted or had an accident. Running her original wheels she certainly looks the part. Being optioned with air suspension, you can raise her full off the ground or lower her. And our favourite part? The built in air compressor for the wheels. She comes with Cayenne S stickering on the side and the useful roof rails. Her paintwork is truly immaculate. Also her headlights are not fading, which is also a common issue with the Cayenne.

Inside you will find the cleanest interior, which we have ever seen on a Cayenne of this age. She is like new inside. With no rips or tears in the seat, no fading, etc. And yes, everything is in great working condition. And in summer, you can enjoy a nice breeze out of the sunroof. Her interior is a very quiet and luxurious place to spend many more fun miles in.

Concerning the mechanics. Her engine is a true gem, which runs and drives great. Mated to this engine is a very smooth shifting automatic gearbox. Her air suspension works great with no leaks, she does not rattle, etc. This Cayenne is immaculate. We have given her a service and changed the top coolant gaskets as they tend to leak. Preventive maintenance is always good!
