Description

1275GT Mini, offered to the world as the replacement for the famous Cooper S………….it came close in the day, but not quite. This example is far from original having had a number of upgrades after a total body rebuild resulting in an absolute eyeful of a motor car without doubt. Expense has never been in question. Presented in Cream and retaining all the ex-factory chrome it looks much the same as any other standard 1275GT, the interior is Cream to match with Scarlet infill panels………….the headlining etc. is trimmed in biscuit Alcantara complimented with burgundy carpets. The body shell was stripped completely and Heritage panels fitted, Bonnet, Front panel, Landing panel, Scuttle, Inner wings, A panels, sills, steps, rear quarters, boot floor, battery box, door skins plus fabrication as necessary. Prior to painting it was decided that a sunroof would enhance the overall look, a cassette roof from an XF Jaguar fits perfectly and after some skillful work the car now benefits from a tilt & slide roof. A graduated tinted screen is fitted which is heated, making short work of a frosty morning and not having to rely on the poor performing original mini demister. Wood & Pickett electric windows are installed with switching mounted in Metro door pockets. A mobile phone holder with adjacent USB socket is part of the top dash rail. Re-wired with a complete new harness & bespoke auxiliary loom. Halogen headlamps & new sidelamps fitted. Thick pile soundproofing is the preferred underlay to the Coverdale carpet. New door handles with keys are in place. The boot is lined in black carpet over board. Mechanically the engine has been subject to a full overhaul by Arnetts and includes new Cam shaft, New Pistons, B.E. bearings & Mains, Reground Crankshaft, New Full Clutch {Borg&Beck} New water pump, timing chain, tensioners. Complete reconditioned gearbox with new inner CV pots, New Radiator & hoses. The brakes are new including Servo, Master Cylinder, Calipers, Drive Flange, Discs, Pads, Hoses, Pipes, Hub bearings/seals, shoes, cylinders, adjusters etc. All suspension components are new including shock absorbers, top & bottom ball pins, steering rack , Sub frame[s], radius arm bearings, HiLo cones, all brake pipes, hand brake cables and the list continues…………. The rear valance has been shaped to accommodate exhaust tailpipes from both left & right and a bespoke stainless steel system has been made for the car. This fabulous motor car will be sold with a new MOT and expected completion date is MARCH 2024
