Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this ultra-low mileage SL65 AMG Biturbo V12, which looks superb in its classic black colour combination and has had just one keeper from new. This car listed at over £152,000 new, and so the SL65 had the lowest production numbers of any R230 variant, (just 3,055 units worldwide), and are highly sought after by collectors. Just a tiny number of cars are currently left in the UK.

The fifth generation SL roadster was a huge success for Mercedes-Benz. It was a mix of beautiful styling with a wide range of engines, however this SL65 model became a flagship that shook the supercar world. The fast, sleek, roadster received the big, twin-turbo M275 V12 engine from AMG in 2004. From the outside, there were few clues to let others know that it was the top version of the SL. A front apron with a wide centre grille and angled spokes resembled the form of an F1 car. On the bumper's sides, a pair of air-exhausts were placed to help to cool the radiators. Behind the front wheels, another pair of air-scoops were installed to extract the air from the wheel-well. In the back, the rear bumper featured a diffuser in its lower side, with the four oval exhausts.

The SL 65 AMG version of the R230 offers 604 hp from its twin-turbocharged 5,980 cc V12 engine at 5500 rpm. The maximum torque figure is a staggering 738 lb/ft. Mercedes-Benz listed a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds on their official website, though several road tests show that it took under 4 seconds to reach 60 mph. Car and Driver magazine achieved 60 mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds, 100 mph in 7.5 seconds and recorded a quarter mile time of 11.6 seconds.

Supplied new by Hughes of Beaconsfield Mercedes Benz in June 2005, this single keeper SL65 AMG V12 has a full service history (11 stamps), new car invoice, original driver’s instruction books, service invoices, historic tax discs, and its spare remote key.
