Four-wheel steering (4WS) is a system that allows you to steer a vehicle using not only the front wheels, but also the rear ones. In 1987, Honda introduced this wonder for the first time in the world in the Prelude Mk3, applying a steering box to the front and one to the rear joined by a steering angle detection mechanism.

Practically at high speeds, when the movements on the steering wheel are generally slight, a lane change for example, the 4WS will command the rear wheels to follow the same direction as the front ones, increasing the general handling of the chassis, vice versa however, during the driving at low speed, driving along narrow streets or when parking the vehicle in a garage, the wider steering angle causes the rear wheels to converge precisely in the opposite direction compared to the front ones, thus allowing the car to achieve agile handling characteristics and stable with a very small bending radius.
