Description

The classic car on offer, is a rare Amilcar c3 series 26 from 1927. The vehicle has a classic sports car body in a teardrop shape, made of unpainted aluminium to save weight. A simple instrument layout and four spoke steering wheel adorn the C3's functional interior.

With no windshield and no roof, this car offers a sensational driving experience and lets you feel early racing first hand. The driving experience is fully rounded off by the 4 cylinder in-line engine from Amilcar and a 3-speed manual transmission.

Both the engine and the transmission have been completely overhauled and the work has been photographically documented in detail. The almost 100 year old sports car reaches a top speed of 105 km/h with its 998 cc and 36 HP engine.

The Amilcar is in a very good technical and optical condition. It was fully restored and currently has a mileage of 23,408 km. The last appraisal of the vehicle dates back to 2020 and gives the Amilcar a condition rating of a grade 2 with a value of € 80,000.

Due to the rarity of the Amilcar, you will certainly be welcomed with open arms at any classic car rally with this beauty.

History

The company Amilcar, was founded in Paris in 1921 by two engineers, Edmomd Moyet and André Morel. The company was financed by Emil Akar and Jospeh Lamy. The name Amilcar is also said to derive from their names (Akar/Lamy).

In October of the founding year, the first vehicles of the type's CC were presented at the Paris Motor Show. In the beginning, the company built so-called cycle cars, or "CC" in short - these acted as the cornerstone of future Amilcar vehicles. Cycle cars, however, were small cars designed and built in a lightweight style.

The successor models could no longer be registered as "CC" due to their higher weight, but Amilcar nevertheless retained the abbreviation. The early engines unfortunately achieved little power compared to the well-known manufacturers of the time.

Moyet and Morel recognized the need and adapted the power amazingly fast. With the CS and CGS models, they thus managed to bring serious small and sports cars to the market. An enormous development and a big step towards a “serious” sports car was offered by the CGS model, introduced in 1923, with 1100cc capacity and 33 horse power - reaching an incredible top speed of 115 km/h.  This performance was a great success for the company and helped it to ever-increasing popularity. Amilcar’s production came to an end in 1939 but the traces of these vehicles reach until today.

The vehicle is located in our showroom in Stuttgart-Plieningen, close to the airport/trade fair. A test drive and an inspection on the car lift are possible by arrangement.

The sale takes place on request with new inspection, service and TÜV. We also offer a wide range of accessories for your new dream car. If required, we can also deliver the vehicle to you in a closed trailer.
