Description

The Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior is a timeless classic that emerged from the renowned Italian automaker Alfa Romeo in the late 1960s. Introduced in 1966, it was designed as a smaller and more affordable alternative to the high-performance GTV models. This sleek and stylish sports coupe featured a 1.3-liter inline-four engine, and it quickly gained popularity among driving enthusiasts and aficionados for its superb handling, nimble chassis, and distinctive design, characterized by its iconic ‘letterbox’. The GT 1300 Junior combined sporty performance with an affordable price point, making it accessible to a broader range of drivers. Its enduring appeal has cemented its status as an emblematic model in the Alfa Romeo heritage, symbolizing the brand's commitment to creating vehicles that blend Italian elegance with dynamic driving characteristics.

Introducing our wonderful GT 1300 Junior, that has been upgraded by an equally wonderful 2.0L Twin Cam 4 cylinder. She is a very early ‘Scalino’ with the handle for the boot on the passenger side. She has quite the story to tell as she has a rich racing history back in Spain. She was used by her Spanish owner, 4 over her Spanish lifetime, to be raced in competitive road rallies. And she was rather good at it, winning 5 races. We even have a scale model of her with her original racing livery that is included in the sale. There are also copies of articles of this Junior in magazines, which is pretty cool. Her history can be traced back to 1987 in Spain before she was brought over to Belgium in 2016.

She has been painted in the lovely, period correct, Italian red. One of our personal favourite colours to paint any Alfa Romeo in. Her racing livery has been removed to make way for her Italian curves that everyone loves. Her body is in good condition showing no signs of rust. Even though she has been raced, her owners have taken even better care of her throughout her life. This GT Junior has been given the GTA look with the GTA door handles and those amazing wheels.

Inside you will find an interior that still resembles her racing history but made for Sunday drives. Her roll cage has been removed and a rear bench has been reinstalled. As for her seats, she is running some classic racing buckets. The roll cage and original seats are in good condition and available with the car. Our personal favourite on her interior is for sure the original weathered dashboard that is still in good condition after 50+ years.

Her mechanicals are what make her stand out. Her original 1300 engine has made way for the iconic 2.0L Twin Cam engine. A true gem that was rebuilt in 2017 by her last owner. During the engine rebuild they have fitted her with electronic ignition, spaghetti exhaust, etc. Power is sent through a smooth shifting manual gearbox and limited slip differential to the road. And to make her handle like a dream, adjustable shock absorbers were also fitted.

Like the saying goes, you are not a true petrolhead until you have owned an Alfa. So what are you waiting for? Get in touch to schedule a visit to drive her. But we warn you that you might fall in love…
