Matching numbers 1958 BMW R26 in good condition with a recent service.

Engine and frame share the same original, factory-stamped number 361247. The speedometer now indicates 19,500 kilometres.

In February 2024 all clutch components have been replaced at an indicated 19,285 kilometres. The new parts that were fitted included:

• new pressure plate,

• clutch spring,

• thrust rod,

• clutch friction disc,

• flywheel,

• thrust ring clutch and seals,

• rings and bearings.

The four-speed transmission is now changing gears seamlessly, enhancing ride comfort and adding to the ease of operation.

The carburettor has been thoroughly cleaned and adjusted -new original Bing components fitted.

Additional reconditioning jobs included:

– New front light reflector, chrome ring and seal.

• New battery.

• New Dunlop K82 tires (3.50-18).

– New NGK spark plug.

– Speedo repair, installation of new speedo instrument O-ring.

• Repair of ignition switch.

– Oil/lubricants/fluids service (engine, gearbox, propshaft).

– New front & rear foot pegs.

– New lock key for battery and storage compartment.

– Installation of storage compartment lid seal.

– Installation of battery cut-off switch to avoid battery drain.

– New license plate holding frame.

– Installation of special break-circuit-prevention rubber pad in front light housing.

– Steering column slack adjustment for smooth feel and comfortable operation.

The bike starts, stops and rides really well. The engine's compression has been checked and found to be strong. The engine is working fine and delivers its power (15bhp) to the rear wheel via the traditional driveshaft of vintage BMW motorcycles. No known mechanical or electrical faults.

Painted surfaces present well with a nice patina and an all-original look. A couple of paint imperfections are evident on the tank as the pictures show -otherwise the overall condition of the paint and white strips is above average, nothing excessive.

A new set of quality stainless-steel ‘Bumm’ mirrors come with the bike (as featured in the photographs).

The bike has 2 stands and a rear rack.
