One of the most celebrated Japanese performance cars of its generation, this UK-supplied 1986 Toyota Corolla GT Coupe AE86 is a particularly well-presented example with a fascinating ownership and service history. Supplied new by Toyota distributor Roys Motor Company of Norwich, the car has had just three former owners from new, with the second owner purchasing the car from a Toyota main dealer in Worthing in 1987. The car was subsequently maintained by Viking Toyota, a main dealer, through to 1998, with the original service book containing 15 service stamps. The current owner acquired the Corolla in 1999 and has retained it ever since, continuing to have the car serviced by the same independent specialist throughout their ownership. The history extends right up to recent years, with the car having also been recently recommissioned and serviced, including an engine oil and filter change. Finished in white with its highly desirable dark blue cloth interior, this AE86 presents very well throughout. The interior is particularly well preserved, while the overall condition is very good and befitting of a car that has clearly been cherished throughout its life. Accompanying the car is an impressive history file including its original service book and Toyota book pack, extensive Toyota main dealer invoices, old MoT records and receipts, sundry bills, old tax discs and the current UK registration document. With its UK-supplied provenance, only three former owners, comprehensive Toyota main dealer history and long-term ownership since 1999, this is an unusually well-documented and well-presented example of the iconic AE86. With its combination of lightweight rear-wheel-drive handling, charismatic 4A-GE engine and unmistakable 1980s styling, it remains one of Toyota's most sought-after modern classics.
