1937 Rolls Royce Phantom III Sports Saloon by Thrupp & Maberly.
Chassis Number: 3-CP-150
Registraton Numbr: DT9343
A really lovely & very well proportioned car by Thrupp & Maberly. The body takes the form of a sports saloon with division but is very very spacious up front for taller drivers.
Exterior paintwork is black & in good order all round. `The front compartment is trimmed in new very high quality blue leather along with blue carpets & lighter coloured woodwork. To the rear is grey West of England cloth & a brand new headlining has just been installed in pale grey. The division is electric & glides up & down at the touch of a button. Rear picnic tables fold out of the division bulkhead.
Mechanicaly the car is in super order with an engine rebuilt by late P3 guru Mr John Little just a couple of thousand miles ago. A non standard carburettor is fitted making for easy starting & giving the car a little extra performance delivered in a seamless manner. The engine is well detailed & tidy, runniing cool & with excellent oil pressure as would be expected.
The car stays snug inside but the front windsreen hinges open alllowing for a pleasant breeze to permeate the cabin keeping the occupants cool.
Overall this is a lvoely example that feels to be a low mile chasis & drives beautifully with ample unruffled performance & powerful brakes. It really needs to be driven to appreciate how well it drives. The last onwer lavished money upon it to kppe it in perfect running condition.
