MGA 1600 roadster, year 1960.

Colour red (Orient Red) combined with a black leather interior trimmed with red piping and black carpet. Black vinyl soft top.

This gorgeous MGA roadster was sold new in the Netherlands where it has resided all its life. The automobile is very well maintained, serviced and kept over the decades, this MGA 1600 is in a very good condition and the car drives delightfully.

Up to the 1950s MG leaned heavily on the prewar MG T series which was a great success amongst American soldiers returning home to the USA. In the USA small sports cars were unknown before WW2 and the MG was the British sports car the Americans loved first. The sleek design of the MGA was inspired by the MG Le Mans racing car which was designed by Sid Evener on an MG TD chassis in 1951.

The glorious MGA design can keep up with the best created by the famous Italian designers of the period and is one of the purest and most stylish British car designs ever conceived.

This wonderful example shows wonderful original details and is fitted with chrome wire wheels, a chrome baggage rack, chrome wing mounted rear view mirrors, a Stainless-Steel exhaust, an electric cooling fan, and disc brakes on the front wheels (original fitment). Additionally, a sports steering wheel with wood rim and a small er diameter is fitted.

The original steering wheel is with the car. This MGA 1600 roadster is a very desirable vintage sports car.
