  • A rare Chapron-built Décapotable
  • Professionally restored circa 2006
  • Rare Jaeger dashboard
  • Beautifully presented

We are extremely proud to offer for sale today this absolutely magnificent Citroën DS21 Le Caddy. The Le Caddy is one of only 34 Décapotable built by Henri Chapron. In 2006 this example of Chapron's rare coachbuilt Citroëns was fully restored to concours standard. Today it is presented in a beautiful metallic Maroon with Tan leather and has the ingenious semi-automatic transmission. Testament to the high quality of the restoration, it featured as the cover-story car for the October 2007 edition of the Italian motoring magazine 'Ruote Classiche' (copy on file) and in 2015 was presented at the Chantilly Concours d'Élégance.

In recent years the Le Caddy has been serviced and updated by the renowned marque specialists, Andrew Brodie Engineering Ltd, who fitted modern charging and ignition systems to ensure reliability. A new windscreen to replace the slightly clouded original has been fitted also on the instruction of the previous fastidious owner.

Our beautiful DS21 is offered with a substantial history file containing;

  • Copies of the original bill of sale
  • French registration papers
  • Historical Chapron information
  • Old Italian registration papers
  • Andrew Brodie Engineering invoice
  • Restoration photographs
  • Detailed starting and operating instructions
  • Chantilly Concours programme and information
  • UK MoTs and V5C Registration Certificate

The car also comes complete with;

  • Jack and tools
  • Spare keys
  • An original driver's handbook (for a UK-built car)
  • A box of useful spare parts including the original alternator, original front suspension spheres, new distributor cap, new rotor arm, new drive belts, etc

This is a wonderful opportunity to own a very rare, superb example of Citroën's and Chapron's 20th Century motoring icon.
